Most machines under $1,000 fail in the same way: the temperature drifts between shots, so a recipe that worked this morning doesn’t work tonight. PID control holds the brew temperature to within 1°C, which means the variable you’re adjusting is your grind, not the machine’s mood.
The 58mm portafilter is the commercial standard, so baskets, tampers, and distribution tools from any brand will fit. The steam wand runs 2 holes at 1.5 bar, enough to build proper microfoam rather than the stiff bubbles that collapse before you pour.

Care
Backflush with water weekly and with detergent monthly. Descale every 3 months, sooner if you’re on hard water. Purge the steam wand and wipe it down immediately after every pour, before the milk dries.
